The marine tourism transportation industry in Indonesia is entering a new era of premium comfort and environmental sustainability through a strategic initiative by Ekajaya Fast Ferry. At the international tourism exhibition Bali and Beyond Travel Fair or BBTF two thousand twenty-six, the leading fast boat operator officially introduced their latest flagship vessel named Ekajaya Patra. The launch of this state-of-the-art vessel was held in conjunction with the soft launching of Nusa Dua Harbour Terminal, an exclusive infrastructure project designed to strengthen maritime connectivity between the premier tourism hub of South Bali and top destinations in West Nusa Tenggara including Lombok and the Gili Islands.

The massive investment injected by the management of Ekajaya Fast Ferry reflects a long-term commitment to supporting quality tourism programs in Indonesia, particularly for the Bali and Lombok regions which remain primary magnets for international travelers. General Manager of Ekajaya Fast Ferry, I Ketut Sugita, explained that the presence of Ekajaya Patra is more than just an fleet expansion, but rather a redefinition of a luxurious and safe island-hopping experience. The fast boat, scheduled to start full operations at the end of June two thousand twenty-six, measures forty-one meters in length with a capacity of three hundred twenty-two passengers, powered by three MAN Marine engines generating a total of four thousand nine hundred fifty horsepower optimized for long-term operational durability.

The main feature drawing international maritime attention to Ekajaya Patra is its next-generation waterjet propulsion system utilizing HamiltonJet HTX58 technology. This flagship vessel becomes the first commercial craft in the world to adopt this mixed-flow jet system, which improves hydrodynamic efficiency by up to two point five percent at high speeds. This advanced performance efficiency directly leads to a significant reduction in fuel consumption while minimizing the carbon emissions produced as the vessel navigates the notoriously strong currents of the Lombok Strait. In addition to prioritizing luxury and speed, Ekajaya Fast Ferry pays great attention to marine environmental sustainability along the Bali Lombok tourism corridor. The waterjet system on Ekajaya Patra houses the impeller inside the jet unit, unlike conventional boats that rely on open propellers. This internal propulsion design is proven to be much safer for marine mammals and exotic wildlife protected in local ecosystems, such as dolphins, sea turtles, and manta rays. The shallow hull draft design also minimizes the risk of mechanical damage to sensitive coral reefs in the marine conservation areas around Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air.
